Late in the evening, the weather begins to change. The sky clouds over and it begins snowing; shortly after, the NORGE goes into the fog. Again, ice begins to form on the envelope, on all the external metal parts and on the celluloid windows. Nobile decides to go up to take the airship back to the sun; within a few minutes, the NORGE emerges from the clouds at 950 meters and continues to keep the pace with the bow up in order not to lose altitude.
