At about 8:00 pm on April 15th the airship Norge arrives over the Soviet field of Gattschina, near Leningrad, and makes a tour as usual to assess the situation. In the half-light of dusk the crew could see the doors of the hangar open and the numerous maneuvering personnel there waiting. At 8.50 pm the NORGE lands.
While carrying out the maneuvers to enter the hangar, the lights inside suddenly go out and the airship is pulled in, in the dark, illuminated only by the crew’s flashlights. When the hangar doors closed, the crew can breathe a sigh of relief.
